Alt Milk Industries is a social enterprise that supports women, gender expansive, and queer musicians, with a focus on those who are self-taught, by teaching them music and marketing skills through events, workshops, and online resources.

Alt Milk was founded in 2022 by Ashley Stein, a music artist, marketer, and PhD researcher. Having graduated with a BA Honours in Music Business in 2015, Ashley went on to become an event’s organiser, music marketer, workshop leader, music journalist, and associate lecturer working with many organisations across the industry including Edinburgh College, The Skinny Magazine, Girls Rock School Edinburgh, and Edinburgh Napier University.

Ashley works with our artists, providing 121 marketing and branding services, as well as running our music marketing workshops, gigs and club nights.

Ashley set up Alt Milk with the aim of creating a safe, supportive space for the artists in her queer, feminist music community to learn, network and grow. We are now ready to support artists outside of our community and we would love to hear from you.
